As we know, the national flag of  China is red in colour, rectangular in shape,  and with five stars.

The proportion between the length and height of the flag is three to two.

The five five-pointed yellow stars are located in the upper left corner.

The biggest  star  appears on the left, while the other four hem it in on the right.

The red colour of the flag symbolizes revolution; the stars take on the yellow colour in order to bring out their brightness on the red ground.

The larger star represents the CPC, while the four smaller ones, the Chinese people.

The relationship between the stars means the great unity of the Chinese people under the leadership of the CPC.

Tropical storm Linfa

Linfa, as the third tropical storm for 2009, landed in east China’s Fujian Province on Sunday evening, with a speed of about 23 meters per second.

The storm landed in Dongshi Township in Jinjiang City at 8:30 p.m, which administers Jinjiang.

Linfa was formed in South China Sea on Thursday afternoon, and had downgraded from a strong tropical storm by the time of landing.

Linfa will bring heavy rains in coastal areas from Sunday night to Monday as it is moving northward.

The shipping route between Xiamen and Jinmen was closed temporarily from yesterday. More than 30,000 fishing boats and 162,757 people working on these boats  had been toled that Linfa was coming by 6 p.m. Sunday.

City of life and death review

“Nanjing, Nanjing!”, with the english name “City of life and death”,  is a film directored by Luchuan. The story takes the Nanjing Massacre in 1937 as the background, revealing the destruction of war on humanity.

There are two clues to the film. One is that the experience of an ordinary Japanese soldier, and the another is the experience of a Chinese soldier.

The story started from December of 1937, when the Nanjing City was broken. Despite a large number of KMT soldiers fled the city, there ware still a large number of soldiers unwilling to surrender to stay in the city’s streets and launched a fierce, hopeless resistance…….

HK confirm the 4th H1N1 flu infection
